Australia crawls out of per-capita recession after strongest GDP growth in two years

Australia has crawled out of a per-capita recession after the strongest quarter of economic growth in two years.

Fresh national accounts data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today showed GDP grew by 0.6 per cent in the December quarter – the highest figure since December 2022.

Over the past year, the economy grew by 1.3 per cent.
